This Privacy Notice applies to the privacy practices at our STYLESENSE stores ("Stores"), on our website located at www.stylesense.ca ("Website"), and other interactions with our customers.

Collection and Use Of Personal Information

The term "personal information" means information about an identifiable individual, including name, address, email address, signature, and other information relating to an individual.

We may collect personal information when you:

Shopping at STYLESENSE:

You do not have to provide us with any personal information when you purchase merchandise with cash at one of our Stores. If you use a credit or debit card for your purchase, we collect your debit or credit card-related information and your signature to process and administer your payment.

When you purchase one of our gift cards on-line, your name, billing address, the address for delivery, phone number, email address, credit card information, amount of the purchase, and a username and password are collected. This information is used to process and fulfill your gift card order.

We offer customers the opportunity to place items in our Stores on hold until end of same day. To place merchandise on hold, we ask for the customer's name for this purpose.

From time to time we may supplement the personal information of our customers with information from publicly available sources, such as information to validate the accuracy of your address or other information you have provided us. This helps us maintain the accuracy of your personal information, understand and improve the nature of our product and service offerings, and/or to assist in the selection of Store locations.

Merchandise Returns:

For all merchandise returns, we collect customers' signatures to acknowledge their receipt of the refund and for the administration of our loss prevention program. For merchandise returns where a customer receives a refund on a debit or credit card, we will collect and use debit and credit-related information to process and administer the refund transaction.

When you return merchandise at one of our Stores without a receipt, we collect certain personal information to process and track returns and to help administer our loss prevention program. To return merchandise without a receipt, we collect your name and address and require customers to provide valid government-issued photo identification, such as a driver's license. Your government issued identification number is not retained, but is electronically converted into a substitute number. The substitute number, the identification type, and your name and address are stored on our systems in Canada and the United States to help administer our loss prevention program.

Email, SMS Text Messaging and other Communications:

From time to time, we may obtain your consent to send you email, SMS text messages and other communications about products, services, promotions or events relating to STYLESENSE that may be of interest to you.

Online Registration:

You do not have to register to visit our Website. Some of the features offered through our Website may require you to register and provide your name, address, phone number, email address, and a password that you select. We may also request certain optional additional information, and offer you the opportunity to participate in one of our customer surveys or research. We use the optional information and survey results to help us understand our customers and to tailor and enhance our product and service offerings, promotions and events. Contests, Sweepstakes and Promotions:

When you enter a contest, sweepstakes or participate in a promotion, we may collect your name, address, phone number, email address, and other information you provide. We use this information to administer your participation in the contest, sweepstakes or promotion. At the time you enter the contest, sweepstakes or promotion, we may obtain your consent to send you future promotional communications. If a contest, sweepstakes or promotion is jointly sponsored by us and one or more sponsors, your personal information may be shared with such sponsors, as specified at the time of collection of your personal information. The "Invite a Friend" and other similar features on our Website permit you to send email to others. This feature requires you to submit your name and email address, as well as the name and email address of the recipient. We do not use the names or email addresses submitted in these circumstances for any other purpose without the consent of you or the email recipient to do so.

Surveys and Customer Research:

From time to time, we may offer you the opportunity to participate in one of our surveys or other customer research. The information obtained through our surveys and customer research is used in an aggregated, non-personally identifiable form. Employment at STYLESENSE:

We advertise employment opportunities on our Website. In connection with a job application or related inquiry, you may provide us with certain personal information about yourself (such as that contained in a resume, cover letter, or similar employment-related materials). We use this information for the purpose of processing and responding to your application for current and future career opportunities.

Customer Service:

When you contact our Customer Service Department, communicate with a member of management or Associate in a Store or otherwise contact us or one of our service providers with a comment, question or complaint, you may be asked for information that identifies you (such as your name, address and a phone number) along with additional information we need to help us promptly answer your question or respond to your comment or complaint. We may also retain this information to assist you in the future and to improve our customer service, product and service offerings, and events and promotions.

Children's Privacy:

We do not seek nor will we knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

Service Provider Arrangements:

WMI, our TJX affiliates and our Canadian, US and other service providers may provide your personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to an investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law, or as otherwise required by applicable Canadian, US or other law.
